Frequently Asked Questions about Nc'nean
What makes Nc'nean special?
Nc'nean is situated in the village of Drimnin on the wild and remote Morvern peninsula. Looking across the Sound of Mull to the village of Tobermory, Nc'nean is one of the most remote distilleries in mainland Scotland.
This refers to how Nc’nean’s barley is farmed, in the most natural way possible by farmers who don’t use any artificial pesticides or fertilisers. This not only results in massive biodiversity, but also better soil health and water quality.
Everything Nc’nean do is designed to achieve their trademark pure, fruity unaged spirit. The distillery also matures their spirit in a range of casks, predominantly specially treated red wine and American whiskey barrels to develop depth and sweetness.
