Lochlea’s Stout Cask Finish: The Whisky Experiment You Need to Try

This latest release from Lochlea marks the result of an innovative collaboration with Glasgow’s craft brewery, Overtone. The Lochlea Stout Cask Finish begins its journey as the distillery’s signature expression, Our Barley, which is initially matured in a combination of bourbon, STR, and oloroso sherry casks. To add a unique twist, the whisky is then transferred into casks previously lent to Overtone Brewery, where they were used to age stout for around eight months. This partnership showcases the creative potential of cask experimentation, resulting in a distinctive and characterful whisky.
