Ardbeg Distillery (Scottish Gaelic: Taigh-stail Àirde Beaga) is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides group of islands. The Ardbeg distillery has been producing whisky since 1798 and began commercial production in 1815.

Originally launched in 1997, the Ardbeg 17 Year Old was among the first whiskies released after the Distillery reopened, before being retired in 2004. With its surprisingly delicate character, yet unmistakably Ardbeg style, it quickly won the hearts of the Committee and set a remarkable benchmark for future releases.

Now, 25 years later, Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden has faithfully recreated this iconic expression, carefully replicating its original flavour profile. Just like the original, it has been bottled at 40% ABV, capturing the essence of the whisky that made its mark all those years ago.
